National Security Law for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Annex III to the Basic Law)







 

 

 

The purpose of enacting the Hong Kong National Security Law is to safeguard national security, prevent, stop and punish criminal acts related to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region that endanger national security by splitting the country, subverting the national regime, organizing and carrying out terrorist activities, and colluding with foreign or external forces, maintaining the prosperity and stability of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of the residents of the Special Administrative Region.
