Family Status Discrimination Ordinance (Chapter 527 of the Laws of Hong Kong)

The Family Employment Discrimination Ordinance protects any person from discrimination in specified areas, including employment, because of his or her responsibility to provide care for an immediate family member.

Immediate family members generally refer to anyone related to that person by blood, marriage, adoption, or in-laws .
