Overseas Job Scams

Recently, there have been signs of a resurgence in overseas job scams. Some citizens are suspected to have been lured to Southeast Asian countries, where they have been imprisoned and forced to engage in illegal work!


The police remind everyone to be cautious and not to trust online job advertisements easily, especially those claiming "high salaries," "no educational or work experience required," or "includes airfare and accommodation." The police state that fraud groups are constantly evolving, taking advantage of young people's desire to venture out. They lure individuals to Southeast Asian cities under the pretense of travel and hiring someone to shop on their behalf, only to subsequently detain them and target more innocent victims.
